Carl worked on a modification to my Marital Settlement Agreement. I couldn't have asked for a more responsive attorney, nor for better guidance. Even though the outcome was not quite what I had hoped for, it was a great end to what was an emotionally difficult process. Carl handled the case with confidence and compassion. He is down to earth, very pleasant and easy to converse with, and extremely knowledgeable about Florida divorce law. His familiarity with the court systems and judges is exceptional and his advice about whether to settle or continue the case in front of a judge was invaluable. I would not hesitate to bring my future legal issues to him and am happy to call him my attorney.

Mr. Ohall handled my divorce and I can say once it was finalized I couldn't believe that I hardly had to do anything. Mr. Ohall made sure I was informed at all times and he was so kind. Divorce is difficult as it is, but having an empathetic lawyer made it so much easier. If I had questions, Me. Ohall would answer them in a timely manner and he always wanted to make sure I had a thorough understanding. Thank you Mr. Ohall for being a great lawyer.

I was going through a difficult divorce and Mr. Ohall was there every step of the way. He was always so informative and most importantly, he was always kind. He never made me feel rushed or unimportant. There is always a negative stigma about lawyers, but Mr. Ohall definitely made me view lawyers in a different light. I'm glad Mr. Ohall handled my divorce and made the difficult journey as easy as possible.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
