Zach Murry of #Barkan & Robon LTD filed a frivolous lawsuit against me and even after his own surveyors confirmed his client lied about the property line issue rather than trying to settle immediately he has pursued 9 months of harassment against me trying to save face for filing a frivolous lawsuit with further frivolous actions against me only to harass me because his client lied and he didn't vet her claims nor did he take the two opportunities I gave him to vet his clients claims he chose not to do in favor of a frivolous lawsuit and actions. Stay far far away from these dirty rottens if they manage to keep their law licenses after a board review, I am sending a report to, both the Toledo and Columbus offices over.

I recently went to this law firm for consultation. I got good advice to a couple questions I basically just wanted to know if I was right about. But the attorney said he could not help me with my situation. I was there for about 20 minutes. And I was charged $250. Personally I think that’s a bit much for a less than 30 minute consultation with no future help. I will never use this firm again. I will never recommend any of my friends to come here.

Our business has twice used Barkan & Robon firm partner Ethan Davis to represent us. Both cases involved allegations of improper or unlawful conduct. Both lawsuits filed in Wood County. The first case involved a recognized optical goods industry giant. That case was settled at the courthouse during arbitration. The second case was more complex as it required six depositions and two optical industry experts. Defendants filed a motion for summary judgement and to disallow our expert. Ethan Davis skillfully addressed apposing counsel arguments. The judge ruled in our favor on both. That case was settled at the court ordered pre-trial hearing just weeks prior to trial. Both cases were settled confidentially. Needless to say, satisfactory sums were paid by defendants in both instances. It’s never fun or easy to deal with legal entanglements. We chose Barkan & Robon after referral by another client, our previous lawyer, and an accountant. If you need a committed, no nonsense firm to right a wrong — look no further. Ethan Davis and his staff do great work. I have 36 years of professional business experience in NW Ohio. We used various other area attorneys previously. I suggest a phone call to Ethan Davis or Marv Robon as a starting place. Expect you won’t be disappointed. M. A. Cooper, OD Managing Partner Village Vision Care

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
