Wellesley Business Succession Planning Law Firm
Overview
At Fields and Dennis, LLP, we believe in innovative solutions to complex family problems. We blend law and human services to provide our clients with choices. Our unique approach offers clients the maximum flexibility to discuss, understand and solve their problems. In some cases, the client's needs may be served by mediation, collaborative law, arbitration, or other methods of alternative dispute resolution. For some clients, traditional litigation may be the wisest course.
Because we don't believe in cookie-cutter solutions, the paths we take to achieve the best results for clients and their families will always be specifically tailored to the individual circumstances of the client.
Through The Center for Problem Resolution, Inc., we have also enjoyed great success with a new approach known as family team decision-making. Also through the Center, we provide divorce coaching to assist those going through the experience of divorce with the emotional and psychological ramifications of the process. As parent coordinators, we break the deadlocks that families in high conflict custody disputes often experience.
Our "family law" practice is not defined by the traditional boundaries that the term encompasses; our practice involves several areas of which families are an integral part. In addition to domestic relations (divorce, custody, paternity, etc.), we counsel clients on estate planning, probate, elder, guardianship and business succession planning.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
