Lake Forest Family Law Firm
Overview
As an experienced Orange County family law attorney and Certified Family Law Specialist, I care about my clients and understand the turmoil they are going through. I know that my job is to minimize that trauma to whatever extent that I can.
My practice focuses exclusively on family law and every person I serve comes to me with a unique set of circumstances. My job as your attorney, and your advocate, is to get you through this difficult process as whole as possible. Working together with you, I will help you to find the solutions that are right for you.
I practice General Family Law and Divorce, including marriage dissolution, community property division, mediation, collaborative law, settlements, legal separations, and issues in military divorce.
A Family Law Specialist certification by the State Bar of California requires that the attorney have actual experience in every area of family law and a substantial record of court cases of specific types. In addition, the attorney must have served as a judge-appointed arbitrator, special master, or judge pro tem on numerous occasions and have completed certain legal education requirements. Certification is then dependent on the attorney passing a rigorous examination. Finally, continued certification requires continued service to the law and ongoing educational requirements. Less than one percent of California's nearly 200,000 lawyers have achieved this designation.
I offer special hours appointments, bilingual services, and accept credit cards.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
