Ms. Jain is a seasoned trial lawyer with a reputation for taking on and prevailing in difficult cases. In private practice since 1994, she has tried dozens of employment discrimination, whistleblower, eminent domain, wrongful death and personal injury cases to verdict. In December 2014, Ms. Jain obtained one of Southern California's top 25 verdicts for $3.3 million in a whistleblower case against the Los Angeles Unified School District on behalf of a retired Air Force officer and Junior ROTC instructor.
Representing a diverse range of clients as part of her practice, Ms. Jain has represented clients before the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board.
Committed to ensuring access to courts and the right to a jury for all litigants, Ms. Jain presented argument before the Texas Supreme Court successfully challenging the systematic exclusion of African Americans from a civil jury. The Texas Supreme Court's 2008 opinion in Davis v. Fisk Electric, is required reading for trial lawyers in Texas.
Along with her trial practice, Ms. Jain offers advice and strategic counseling to clients in matters involving employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and severance contracts.
Ms. Jain is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center. She has a B.A. in Economics & Political Science and an M.B.A. from the University of Pune, India. In her previous career, Ms. Jain was the chief training officer on a World Bank project in Liberia.
Ms. Jain is a member of professional organizations, including the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. She is on the Executive Board of the California Employment Lawyers Association and a member of the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Section of the Los Angeles Bar Association. In 2008, Ms. Jain was honored by the State Bar of Texas for her contributions and awarded the Frances Campbell Advocacy Award. This award is one of the three Founders' Awards given annually by the State Bar of Texas.
