I would give Mr. Gray Smith negative stars if possible. I retained him for my child custody, child support and divorce case. During the consultation he expressed how "easy" my case would be and how confident he was in winning my case. WRONG. To summarize my case, he quoted me at 5K for a total divorce, custody, child support, emergency ex parte, equitable distribution and post separation support. Total cost ended up being over 10K and I ended up having to withdraw him from my case and retain a new attorney to represent my daughter and I in the remaining open cases. Mr. Smith has a big talk, but when it comes down to actually being an advocate for my daughter and I he failed. I felt like I had to represent myself in mediation and you know it's a bad sign when your attorney says "I wasn't prepared to talk about child custody today" but proceeds to do so anyways. Now my daughter who is only three years old is left with a not so ideal custody order that is not appropriate given the situation. Mr. Smith has glowing reviews when it comes down to criminal cases, but in family law I strongly advise you to stay far away.
