This is the best law office for complicated family matters. I was represented by Stephen Otte who was extremely knowledgeable and kind. He listened patiently and genuinely looked for solutions to my specific, individual concerns. Stephen was very compassionate throughout the entire process yet he helped me discern when I was acting on emotion. I cannot say enough about his work. I felt completely confident with him throughout the entire process. In addition to the excellent representation I received, the entire staff was patient and receptive. They all answered my questions thoroughly and promptly. They were very professional and really took their time to be sure I understood the process. I would highly recommend this office, and specifically Stephen Otte, to anyone facing a family legal matter. Despite the stressful time, I was able to trust that I had the best professionals working on my behalf. My family and I are so thankful for all they did for us.

Vicki Richmond is a wealth of knowledge and experience combined with compassion and professionalism. She truly changed the course of my experience. I would not hesitate to contact her again if needed and I recommend anyone in need of family law assistance to reach out to her immediately. Every experience I had with the entire staff at Lampe Law was top notch.

Although I worked primarily with Stephen, the entire office staff was phenominal. They were polite and professional at every step of the way.

Do not waste your time or money!! They gave me the run around for 6+ weeks, charged me several hundred dollars for a consultation, set several stipulations that I needed to fulfill in order for them to take my case. After being compliant with all Tom's demands, I sent him an email asking how to pay the retainer since my son's next court date was fast approaching. Initially he responded that his assistant would send me the payment link, she did not, she only asked when the next court date was scheduled. Information they already had since they made me scan in and email them every document I already had pertaining to the case. Then 6 hours later, Tom emailed me (at the end of the day on a Friday) and said he actually wouldn't be taking my case!! Obviously, my main focus is still on getting my son back into a safe and loving home, where he belongs. But once that is accomplished, I will be sparing no expense on taking this law firm to court myself. I am convinced there was some backroom dealing going on here, and I plan on exposing it for the world to see! They are, in my opinion, one of, if not the most corrupt "law" firms around!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
