Alan Wharton is an experienced and proficient trial attorney representing clients in the areas of general civil litigation, oil and gas litigation and real estate litigation. He is licensed to practice before all the courts of the state of Texas as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Alan has tried numerous cases to verdict and has appeared in courtrooms across the state advocating for his clients.
Alan began his legal career with the Smith County District Attorney's Office where he received substantial trial experience and has enjoyed lasting relationships with local judges and their staffs. He left the DA's office to work for Sammons & Parker P.C., where he represented insurance companies and those they insured across the State of Texas. He became Partner in 2003.
In 2004, Alan founded Wharton Law Firm and put his litigation experience to work for individuals injured by the negligence of others. By 2010, he had been the recipient of many referrals from the attorneys at Dobbs & Tittle, P.C., so it was natural to affiliate his firm with them. Alan's personal injury practice required him to quickly evaluate situations, accurately assess the steps necessary to obtain favorable results, and think on his feet. As he honed his skills in these areas, business people in oil and gas and real estate approached him to handle their litigation cases, so he expanded his practice to include them. Alan enjoys the mix of corporate and individual clients, which led him to Flowers Davis in January 2017.
A Tyler native, Alan enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and fly fishing.
