Allison A. Bastian joined the Rio Grande Valley office of the Firm as an Associate in 2018, and has over ten years of municipal legal experience. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bastian served as the Assistant, and then Deputy, City Attorney for the City of Brownsville. Her practice focuses on municipal real estate transactions, regulation and governance of land use, and general contracting issues for governmental entities. She also provides general legal support in the Firm’s City Attorney/General Counsel practice areas -- including open meetings and elections issues, ordinance drafting, and public information requests -- and serves as a municipal court prosecutor for various South Texas cities.
Ms. Bastian earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from the University of Oklahoma in 1994, and received her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University in 2007. She is a member of the Real Estate Trust and Probate Law (REPTL) Section of the State Bar of Texas, and was selected to serve on the Real Estate Forms Committee for 2019-2021. She was also selected for the inaugural class of the REPTL Leadership Academy for 2016-2017, and upon completion was presented with the “Overall Leadership” Award. She is also a member of the Cameron County Bar Association; the Hidalgo County Bar Association; and the Texas City Attorneys Association.
