Attorney Andrew S. Murrie joined Simmons Hanly Conroy LLC in 2013 and was promoted to shareholder in 2018. He focuses his practice on helping individuals and families impacted by asbestos-related diseases like mesothelioma.Before joining Simmons, he spent years representing clients in the areas of mesothelioma and asbestos litigation, personal injury and commercial litigation. He is experienced in all aspects of litigation and has helped recover millions of dollars on behalf of his clients. Andy also has first-chair jury trial experience in Madison County, Illinois.
Andy prepares clients for depositions and identifies co-workers and family members who can assist in the claim. "Our clients are people who spent their lives working hard to take care of their families. Because of that work, they are now very ill," Andy said. "It is a tragedy, and our clients handle it with incredible grace. We are a voice for their situation."
Andy earned his law degree from St. Louis University School of Law where he received an Academic Excellence Award for the highest grade in Torts. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in political science.
Andy has been a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bar since 2007, and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and Southern District of Illinois. Andy is also admitted as a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar.
During his free time, Andy trains to run marathons around the country. He has even finished the Boston Marathon several times. Andy and his wife also volunteer for the St. Louis chapter of the ALS Association, which works to find a cure and better treatment options for Lou Gehrig's disease.
"I was raised in a small town in Southern Illinois where many of my family members worked in the same trades as our clients," Andy said. "I am dedicated to being an advocate for these families."
