After his Active Duty time, he worked for Auburn University as an EEO and Title IX investigator. He's handled numerous investigations regarding sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, and discrimination. He also developed and delivered training sessions to students, faculty, and staff in the areas of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and the Title IX adjudication process. He's well versed in the policies and procedures required by the Federal Title IX regulations, including the changes that took effect in August of 2021.
As a reservist, he serves as the Senior Reserve Legal Officer for the 23d Fighter Wing at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. He provides backfill and leadership support to the Staff Judge Advocate leading an office of 19 attorneys and paralegals. He also serves as a member of the Training by Reservists in Advocacy and Litigation Skills (TRIALS) team where he travels the world training Air Force JAGs in the area of Trial Advocacy.
Artie's been published countless times in the areas of criminal law, evidence, military justice, and leadership. He's licensed to practice in Alabama, the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
In November, 2021 he co-Chaired a Military Law Roundtable Discussion at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Defending Sexual Assault Conference.
He and his wife, Leeatra, live in Auburn, Alabama with their two children, Tripp and Kimberly.
