Overview
Scott Cowart was born in Opelika, Alabama in 1965. He received a Bachelor of Science in economics from Louisiana State University in 1988. After briefly working for the Louisiana House of Representatives, he obtained his law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1992. Scott has committed over 25 years of practice to the defense of workers’ compensation claims, personal injury claims and appellate advocacy. His diverse clients include some of the largest employers and insurers in the world, and small local businesses. He is a frequent speaker at national and local seminars on risk management, accident investigation and all subjects impacting a company’s claims and litigation exposure. Scott is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state and federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. When not practicing law, Scott enjoys golf, exercising, and vacationing with his family.
