Barbara G. Stephenson graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1979. She worked for ten years for several public entities at the city, state and federal levels, including the City of Albuquerque, Office of the New Mexico Attorney General, the University of New Mexico, and the United States Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C. Ms. Stephenson worked for the Albuquerque law firm of Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin & Robb first as an associate and then as a shareholder. In 1995, she was a founding shareholder in the law firm of Gilkey & Stephenson, P.A., specializing in employment and labor law. She successfully defended local and national employers against a wide variety of employment changes and lawsuits. Ms. Stephenson is certified by the New Mexico Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in employment and labor law.
