Overview
Ben Ostrer has earned a reputation as one of the premier criminal defense attorneys in the Hudson Valley. He has handled numerous serious felony cases obtaining acquittals for his clients in homocide, manslaughter, sex offense and other violent and non-violent criminal matters. He has successfully argued appeals before the New York Court of Appeals and Appellate Divisions. He was the 2016 recipient of the prestigious Charles Crimi Award as the outstanding private criminal defense lawyer in New York State. He has also been honored by the New York State Bar Assn. for his pro-bono efforts which included a not guilty verdict in an alleged shaken baby homicide in Ulster County (2008), vacating a murder conviction in Saratoga County (2012) and the defense of a man accused of homicide while aiding police in the capture of an escaped rapist. (2013-16) Ben has vigorously represented people from all walks of life who have been confronted with criminal charges. He is admitted to practice in New York State and Federal Trial and Appellate Courts.
