Brian DelVecchio grew up in the North Park community of greater Pittsburgh and earned his law degree in 1996 from The University of Tulsa School of Law. He devotes himself to the pursuit of justice and compensation for the aggrieved and injured people of southwestern Pennsylvania and Michigan. His compassionate and aggressive representation resulted in several multi-million dollar awards to clients injured by dangerous product failures, medical misadventures, and dangerous premises.
Attorney DelVecchio selflessly serves his clients and community members. He began his legal career directly out of law school with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps in Europe. Then an Army Captain, he served with 1st Armored Division in Germany as its Operational Law attorney. He deployed to Bosnia-¬Herzegovina as a NATO lawyer overseeing implementation of the Dayton Peace Accords to provide peace and protection to the Bosnian people after a genocidal civil war. Captain DelVecchio served a second tour of duty in Europe defending soldiers at military courts-martials, earning accolades during his first federal trial experience.
After honorably completing his military service in 2001, Mr. DelVecchio returned to Pittsburgh to begin his civilian legal career defending medical malpractice claims. In 2004, he was again called upon to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) as legal advisor to a Military Police detachment, advising its command group on international and human rights law. Upon his return to civilian practice in 2004, Attorney DelVecchio was invited to join the law firm of Swensen, Perer & Kontos where he successfully represented hundreds of personal injury victims.
In 2010, Attorney DelVecchio established his own personal injury practice on the Northshore of Pittsburgh, The Law Office of Brian DelVecchio. In 2011, he joined with Attorney Christopher M. Miller to form the partnership of DelVecchio & Miller, LLC, a law firm devoted to representing seriously injured accident victims. He now serves at the rank of Major in the Michigan Army National Guard in support of its various humanitarian efforts and domestic support missions. He is currently assigned as the Garrison Judge Advocate at the National Guard's largest training facility in the eastern United States in northern Michigan at Camp Grayling.
Attorney DelVecchio received his Bachelor's Degree in English from Duke University in 1992. Duke recruited him out of North Allegheny High School to be a member of its Division 1 wrestling team after he captained North Allegheny High School's first ever National Championship title 1988. At the University of Tulsa School of Law, he was a member of Law Review and Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Fraternity. He earned the dual distinction of being selected for the Law Review and being published in the Tulsa Law Journal.
Throughout his legal career, Attorney DelVecchio has donated his legal services to various recreation and environmental causes. His commitment to the greater Pittsburgh community's health and well-being led him to be named a 2007 Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine. He helped establish the Pittsburgh Trails Advocacy Group (PTAG) as a 501(c)(3) and was named a "Community Conservationist" by the Allegheny Land Trust for leading a community-based land conservation project in the Irwin Run Creek watershed that contributed to the restoration and preservation of North Park's lake environment. Attorney DelVecchio gained national recognition from the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) and Fox Racing Shox for his legal contributions in establishing Pennsylvania's first public freeride/downhill mountain bike trail in North Park.
