Byron was listed in Best Lawyers in America for 28 years (1983-2011), and was a member of the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (1988-2010).

Notes on Probate Inventory for the General Practitioner, Journal of The Missouri Bar, December 1965; Chapter Two, Dispensing with or Terminating Administration, Missouri Estate Administration, Third Edition, 1984 and Chapter 2, Dispensing with or Terminating Administration, I Mo. Estate Administration Fourth Edition 1999.
He was an avid and active member of the legal community, Eastern Jackson County Bar Association (Vice President 1965; President 1966-67); American Bar Association (Missouri Representative, Committee on Significant Decisions on Real Property Law, 1962-1966; 1975-1988; Missouri Representative, Committee on Significant Decisions on Real Property Law, 1962-1966; 1975-1988; Missouri Representative, Committee on Significant Probate and Trust Decisions, 1989-1996); the Missouri Bar (Member of Sub-Committees Drafting Missouri Probate Code 1980; Missouri Non Probate Transfers Law, 1990; Vice Chairman, Probate and Trust Committee, 1983-1984 and 1998-2000).
