Cameron (Cam) Bordner received his B.A. from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and conducted his post-graduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. During his time in Boulder, Cam was a professional ski patroller at Eldora Mountain Resort and competitive telemark skier in the Rocky Mountain Telemark Series, as well as a regular backcountry adventurer, rock climber and mountain biker. While a pro patroller at Eldora, Cam was the head of the mountain safety and accident investigation teams and he later became a risk consultant to ski resorts and other recreation providers across the U.S. for a major insurance company. Eventually, Cam moved from Colorado to Truckee, California, and accepted the position of Director of Risk Management at Heavenly Ski Resort. Cam earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and began practicing ski resort/sports and recreation defense here in Tahoe.
Now Cam’s practice is dedicated to all types of civil litigation; such as business, employment, property, and construction law in addition to sports and recreation defense/risk management. Cam has, on some level, been involved in outdoor recreation his entire life. He believes in recreation and is passionate about defending recreation providers. Cam is licensed to practice law in California and Nevada, in the federal court system, and he handles select matters nationwide.
Cam is a member and past president of the Tahoe Truckee Bar Association, and is a Trustee of the Sierra Avalanche Center. He is also a member of the Association of Ski Defense Attorneys (ASDA), which is an international group of attorneys recognized for the expertise in ski resort/recreation defense.
Cam’s favorite charities are High Fives, Yogis for Good, and Disabled Sports USA. When he’s not in the office, Cam enjoys skiing, cycling, running, music and yoga. He also loves spending time, and recreating, with his family.
Cam is MOBO.
