He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar and United States District Court, District of South Carolina in 1986, and the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit in 1991. He is a member of the Charleston County, South Carolina and American Bar Associations, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association, American Board of Trial Advocates, American Association for Justice, and Defense Research and Trial Institute. He is the author of Civil Conspiracy, South Carolina Jurisprudence.
