Charles W. Dobbins, Jr. has devoted his practice to providing thoughtful and pragmatic advice to a great diversity of clients seeking to achieve their varied business objectives. He advises and assists individuals and entities in creating and implementing corporate and other structures that support business growth through concept, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He advises startups and mature businesses in governance and management structure, preparing for public or private offerings and creation and completion of exit strategies, including succession and estate planning in addition to business designs and concepts.
He has advised individuals and entities in investment structures for implementation and use of Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits and Low Income Housing Tax Credits. As counsel, he has advised and assisted these clients in the infusion of private equity, issues of capital formation, entity structures and exit strategies particular to the tax structures employed in each instance. In support of the individuals advised, he also provides advice as to succession and estate planning relative to the differing investment and structures of each business or individual.
He strives to stay active in community affairs and contribute both time and energy to the development of the Louisville Community, his hometown. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Joanne (“Joey”), a microbiology professor at Bellarmine University. Charles and Joey have two adult children and three grandchildren.
