Overview
Chris brings nearly a decade of litigation and trial experience in the areas of complex construction, business and commercial litigation, as well as legal malpractice claims.
In his construction practice Chris represents a wide variety of clients including building owners, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors and suppliers in claims involving defective work, breach of contract, mechanic's liens and violations of M.G.L. c. 93A. Chris has expertise with disputes involving both public and private construction projects and has extensive experience with multi-party construction defect litigation.
In addition to his construction practice, Chris also focuses on representing individuals, businesses, contractors and developers in a broad range of matters including business and contract disputes, commercial dispute resolution, employment matters and personal injury claims. Chris also represents several condominium associations, homeowners associations and property management companies in connection with construction defect claims, enforcement actions and common area disputes.
Chris' recent representative matters include:
- Indemnity clause doesn't protect developer-trustee - Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (Feb, 17th 2014)
- Obtained summary judgment dismissing claims which alleged breach of contract and violations of M.G.L. c. 93A;
- Obtained six-figure settlement on behalf of building owner for deficiencies in the design and construction of a waste water treatment facility;
- Negotiated and obtained $600,000 settlement for building owner in a multi-party construction defect lawsuit;
- Multiple successful appeals before the State Building Code Appeals Board (SBCAB) involving building code variances;
- Obtained dismissal of negligence claim brought against management company by developer of water treatment plant;
- Obtained summary judgment dismissing claims of negligence and breach of fiduciary duty against a Trust
