Overview
Dave's practice involves all aspects of civil litigation with a concentration on products, municipal, premises, construction and automobile litigation. He has handled products liability cases in federal and state courts involving power tools, hand tools, machinery, tires and rims, overhead doors, escalators and motor vehicles, and has represented scaffolding concerns, municipalities and contractors in construction cases involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Dave has also represented a major New Jersey Hotel concern in several injury cases in the New York metro area, and he is currently involved in matters for several municipalities handling claims involving civil rights, land use, excessive force and other municipal torts.
Dave is a 1987 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and received his J.D. in 1990 from St Johns University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all four Federal District Courts within New York State and the New York State Courts, and has handled cases in these courts at both the trial and appellate levels. He has lectured before the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys at their 2004 Dublin meeting on the subject of spoliation of evidence, and has published newsletter articles for the International Association of Defense Counsel, having been a member of both groups. Dave has also been an assistant editor of the American Bar Association Tort and Insurance Practice Section's Automobile Law Committee Newsletter.
Dave and his wife Doreen and children live in Manorville, New York. He has served on the Eastport/South Manor Central School District Legislative and Audit Committees. Mr. Arntsen is also an accomplished musician and songwriter who performs locally. His instrumental compositions have been utilized by Internet businesses.
