Overview

Since his admission to the Arizona Bar, Mr. Matheson has developed an extensive civil litigation practice emphasizing insurance coverage, the defense of accident, health, disability, life, complex property and casualty insurance claims (including bad faith and punitive damages), commercial contract and construction defect litigation. Having litigated at all levels of the judicial system, he has substantial trial and appellate experience, including having taken more than 50 cases to jury verdict.

Mr. Matheson has also handled well over 500 arbitrations and mediations as both a party and as the arbitrator/mediator. During the course of his practice Mr. Matheson has developed a special emphasis in providing coverage and investigative counsel to insurance company special investigation units. Prior to forming Matheson & Matheson, P.L.C., he was a partner with the mid-sized Phoenix law firm, Poli & Ball, P.A. Mr. Matheson has also served as a Judge Pro Tempore, Maricopa County Superior Court, since 2004.
