Mt Lebanon Family Law Lawyer
Overview
Elizabeth A. Avon, Esquire is an attorney with over a decade of experience in litigation. Well-versed in all aspects of Family Law, her primary focus is on divorce, custody, and fertility law.
Attorney Avon became an attorney because she loves working directly with clients and helping people achieve a sense of calm and hope in an otherwise stressful time. Attorney Avon has chosen to focus her career on family law as it is one area of law where the work that she does will ultimately have an impact on her clients' day-to-day lives. Attorney Avon recognizes that when someone needs to contact an attorney for assistance on any matter, they are most likely going through one of the most difficult experiences they may ever face. It has always been Attorney Avon's goal to help guide her clients through this frightening, and often confusing process and assist them in regaining a feeling of security and sanity. Each client has a unique set of needs and objectives, and Attorney Avon takes the time to get to know her clients so she is best suited to tailor a plan of action for each client's individual goals. Attorney Avon always strives to ensure that each client feels heard, prioritized, and knows that their legal team is working hard to advocate for them and their family.
When Attorney Avon is out of the courtroom, she spends as much time as possible with her two daughters and her dashing husband. Attorney Avon also loves to play volleyball and lift weights with her friends at the gym. Each year, Attorney Avon looks forward to attempting to put together something resembling a decent fantasy football team so she can join in on the trash-talking. Attorney Avon also enjoys frequent trips to the GYM to burn some calories and stay fit.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
