Frederick J. Gerngross represents corporate and individual clients in a wide array of commercial transactions focusing on real estate, design, development and construction, surety rights and obligations, commercial real estate leasing, acquisition, finance and development. A widely recognized contract expert, Fred has represented sureties, owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in complex construction and development projects of local, national and international scope.

The son of a mechanical and electrical contractor in the Philadelphia area, Fred has a life-long understanding of the business and economic cycles of contracting firms and vendors, and of fair and appropriate risk allocation and risk avoidance. Fred also uses his skill and experience to actively guide his clients in business planning.
Fred is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and American Bar Associations. He has been a member of the General Building Contractors Association (GBCA) of Philadelphia for over two decades, and has represented that organization directly as legal counsel on mechanics' lien law legislation. He has served on the Legislative Affairs Committee of the GBCA for over ten years.
