Heather is a board member (past-chair, program co-chair) of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys' Board of Directors. She is an advisor to and the past chair of the State Bar of Wisconsin's Elder and Special Needs Section (ELSNS) Board. She also serves as the ELSNS Liaison to the Board for WisPACT, Inc., the non-profit organization that oversees pooled and community trusts for persons with disabilities.
For more than ten years, Heather has been a co-editor of the Medicaid Divestment Chapter of the Attorney's Desk Reference and the Medicaid Chapter of Advising Older Clients and Their Families, both published by the State Bar of Wisconsin.
