Overview
Jamie Fukumoto will focus her practice in corporate and captive insurance where she will advise clients on business entity formations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and captive insurance.
For more than 8 years, while working in Tokyo, Japan, for such large law firms as Nishimura & Asahi and Matsuo & Kosugi, Jamie represented public and private multinational corporations and private equity funds in connection with multijurisdictional transactions. She is well equipped to handle complex business transactions based on her experience in the automobile manufacturing, telecommunications, software development, and semiconductor industries.
Her fluency in the Japanese language and working experience in Japan will add to the already strong Japanese Practice Group at Goodsill with Alan Fujimoto and Shimpei Oki (partners) and Tanya David (associate), who are also fluent in English and Japanese.
Jamie was born and raised in Hawaii. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Hawai'i William S. Richardson School of Law. She is admitted to the bar in Hawai'i and New York.
