Joann Brown Williams has been litigating for well over a decade and has tried cases throughout the country in both State and Federal Court. After having practiced corporate litigation for a number of years, she felt she was in a position to follow her bliss and joined Meriwether & Tharp in June 2013. Joann’s motivation in practicing law is to help people who find themselves in difficult and often scary places in their lives and has found the best way for her to achieve her goals is through her family law practice.
Her background as General Counsel for Textile Management Associates, Inc., a multinational textile manufacturer, responsible for overseeing all corporate legal matters, including litigation, provides her with in-depth insights into domestic matters involving high assets and businesses. She understands how companies are run and where to look for information.

Smith, 249 Ga. App. 719 (2005)(defining fiduciary duties as between members under Georgia's limited liability act); and Stewart v. Smith, 291 Ga. App. 86 (2009)(recognizing defamation in fiction in Georgia).
She lives in Calhoun, Georgia with her husband, Ed, and their children, dog, cat, and miscellaneous strays.
