Prior to attending law school, Ms. Leisure worked for several years as a legal assistant in workers' compensation law. While in law school, Ms. Leisure served as the supervising judicial intern in the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit and was an associate member of the Stetson Law Review. Ms. Leisure also received the Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy Award and the West Group Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award.
