Overview

Mr. Vermitsky received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester located in Rochester, NY where he graduated with honors with a dual degree in Spanish Language and Culture and Political Science. While he was enrolled at the University of Rochester Mr. Vermitsky received the distinction of Academic All American for his national success in intercollegiate debate.

After college, Mr. Vermitsky attended Wake Forest University School of Law where he graduated cum laude. While enrolled at Wake, Mr. Vermitsky was an active member of the local trial bar and served as a staff member of the Wake Forest University Law Review. Upon graduation, Mr. Vermitsky was named a member of Wake Forest University's chapter of the Order of the Coif, an honor fraternity reserved for those who graduate in the top 10% of the law school's graduating class. Mr. Vermitsky passed the North Carolina Bar in July of 2006, and began practicing with Morro Porter Vermitsky & Taylor, PLLC shortly thereafter.

Mr. Vermitsky's practice focuses on civil trial law of all types. He regularly practices in both Federal and State trial courts, appellate court, and handles the following types of claims: wrongful death, insurance coverage, breach of contract, civil rights, motorsport and sports litigation, malpractice, breach of fiduciary duties and shareholder claims, and many other types of complex civil litigation.

Mr. Vermitsky is also a North Carolina board certified specialist in Family Law and handles all elements of domestic litigation from custody to alimony, to property division and everything in between. Additionally, Mr. Vermitsky has had considerable experience representing spouses who are involved with claims of alienation of affections and criminal conversation and has persuaded at least one trial court to find that these torts are unconstitutional.

As a proud Demon Deacon, Mr. Vermitsky teaches trial practice at Wake Forest School of Law and is clinic supervisor in the litigation clinic.

Originally from Budd Lake, New Jersey Mr. Vermitsky and his family have called North Carolina their home for over a decade. His hobbies include teaching Karate, spending time with his wife and children, traveling and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the New York Jets and Demon Deacons.
