John S. Capper IV (Indiana University, J.D.) has been practicing law for over 40 years concentrating in the area of family law relating to complex financial divorce litigation, paternity litigation, contested child custody, parenting time and adult and child guardianships. Mr. Capper’s divorce, paternity and guardianship practice is individually tailored to the needs of each of his clients.

Mr. Capper also has extensive experience in representing seriously injured individuals and their families who are victims of auto accidents, truck collisions, wrongful death, premises liability and other plaintiff personal injury matters.

Mr. Capper has over 40 years experience in the areas of estate, trusts, wills and has litigated numerous will contests and contested trust matters resulting in successful settlements for numerous clients. Mr. Capper has used his farm experience to organize and manage the sale of multiple tracts of farm real estate in estates and trusts working with the client to coordinate successful strategies to obtain optimum results in the sale of farm real estate.

Mr. Capper litigated one of the first compensation cases in the State of Indiana under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act that was appealed to the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Capper was selected as local counsel in the largest toxic tort case filed in the State of Indiana (75 defendants) wherein he selected the jury prior to settlement. Mr. Capper was involved in the longest jury trial in Montgomery County on record involving the Town of Whitestown and their sewer contractor resulting in a verdict in favor of the town. Mr. Capper has tried numerous criminal and civil jury trials throughout his career.

Mr. Capper is Senior Partner of the law firm Capper, Tulley and Reimondo an AV-rated law firm Martindale-Hubbell that has been in existence since 1907.

Mr. Capper is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; and Southern Districts of Indiana and all Courts in the State of Indiana.

Mr. Capper has been President of the Montgomery County Bar Association, Montgomery County Pro-Bono of the year attorney, 17 year member of the Crawfordsville Parks and Recreation Board and a 16 year member of the City of Crawfordsville Board of Public Works. He has been married to his wife Jill for over 40 years and has 3 children. Mr. Capper is a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana.
