Overview
John Wellington Wesley assists clients throughout the State of Florida with claims involving catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, and death. In addition, Mr. Wesley represents clients in cases where their insurance company has denied coverage. Mr. Wesley obtained undergraduate degrees from Florida State University, where he was a double major in Multinational Business and Marketing. He then attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA on a partial scholarship, where he graduated Cum Laude. During his 3rd year of law school, Mr. Wesley was elected as the 3rd year representative to the Student Bar Association. Mr. Wesley has been practicing law since 2001 and is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Florida, as well as the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
Despite being the youngest member of the firm, Mr. Wesley has been recognized by his peers for his skill and experience as a civil trial lawyer. Mr. Wesley was selected as a Rising Star (attorneys under 40) by Florida Super Lawyers magazine for 2012, 2013, and 2014. Selection to Rising Stars is limited to no more than 5% of all attorneys in the State of Florida. Mr. Wesley has also been selected as a member of The Top 40 under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers, signifying his qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young trial lawyer.
Additionally, Mr. Wesley was Board Certified in Civil Trial Law from 2013 - 2023. Board Certification by the Florida Bar requires significant trial experience, peer endorsement, judicial endorsement, and successfully passing a written examination testing trial knowledge and skills. Mr. Wesley passed on his first attempt. Less than 7% of all attorneys in the State of Florida are Board Certified, and a significantly smaller percentage are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law. Mr. Wesley’s entire legal practice is devoted to civil litigation and he maintains a very active trial practice.
When John is not working, he enjoys boating, fishing and traveling with his wife and two children. As a diehard Seminole fan, Mr. Wesley, with family in tow, can almost always be found in Tallahassee on game days. As a native of Fort Walton Beach, John also believes strongly in giving back to his community, was a member of the Board of Directors of Children in Crisis, Inc, a non-profit foster home neighborhood serving foster children from Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa and Escambia counties for many years. WMW also sponsors many local youth athletic programs and is proud to sponsor both Choctawhatchee Highschool and Fort Walton Beach Highschool athletics, and Choctaw's International Baccalaureate program.
