Jon R. Fritz received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky School Of Law in 1998, as an Otis A. Singletary Scholar, having received formal education and hands-on training at King’s College London, Cambridge and Oxford Universities. Jon is admitted to practice before all Kentucky state and federal courts, as well as the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of the United States and numerous international courts. Jon is a member of the ABA, DCBA, KBA, BG-WC BA, WC BA, ACC, NADC and the DRI.
Throughout his twenty-two year career, Jon has practiced law in over thirty countries. In addition, he has handled significant cases in the U.S., including, (1) Jon was awarded the Washington D.C. Lawyer’s Committee 2006 Outstanding Achievement Award in the field of civil rights; (2) Jon was selected to appear in a 2008 Discovery Channel series titled “Forensics: You Decide,” for his exonerating work on behalf of a falsely accused rapist, murderer and arsonist in Baltimore, MD; and (3) in 2019, Jon was honored as a newly inducted member into the prestigious Lawyers of Distinction Society.
For the past 9 years, since moving back home, Jon has focused, and will continue to focus, his practice on representing families, whether it be mother, father, child, grandparent, or other interested party, in ensuring that the laws of this great Commonwealth regarding the best interests of children are followed, even in smaller communities, such as ours. Jon is accepting new clients and is available after-hours and on weekends for free initial consultations.
