Overview
JONATHAN H. LOMURRO is a dedicated trial attorney. Jonathan handles matters relating to personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal defense, traffic / municipal court matters, and civil litigation.
After completing law school, he continued to perfect the craft of litigation by earning his LL.M. as a Master of Law in Trial Advocacy.
Jonathan is the co-author, along with Philip Auerbach, Esq., of New Jersey's premiere trial guide, Try It: With Friends. The treatise was published by the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
Additionally, Mr. Lomurro is an extensive lecturer on Trial Techniques and Technology in the Courtroom. He has lectured for the New Jersey State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Rutgers University School of Law, and the Haydn Proctor American Inns of Court.
Jonathan Lomurro has appeared before the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Superior Court, Municipal Court and Federal District Court in the State of New Jersey. He was lead counsel on the landmark decision State v. Moran which was the first case in New Jersey to establish guidelines that a Municipal Court Judge must follow before revoking a citizen's right to operate a motor vehicle.
He has received the New Jersey State Bar Association's "Young lawyer of the year" (2011) and "Outstanding Professional Achievement" (2009) award. His name has been included in the Super Lawyer: Rising Star* listing for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011**.
Jonathan has been appointed to act as the Public Defender for Howell Township and Freehold Borough for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Mr. Lomurro currently serves as Vice-Chair to the New Jersey State Bar Association YLD. He is a TIPS NOW Fellow in the American Bar Association:Tort, Trial and Insurance Section and is Vice-Chair of their Medicine & Law Committee. Jonathan serves as the Vice-Coordinator of the In-House A New Partner Conference in the American Bar Association YLD. He is currently a Barrister in the Haydn Proctor Inns of Court and on their Executive Committee. He was elected to serve on the ABA House of Delegates and represent the NJSBA.
