BIOGRAPHY AND LEGAL WORK
A graduate of SUNY Polytechnic Institute and the Syracuse University College of Law, Joseph Hobika III has a wide variety of legal knowledge and experience. Before becoming an Attorney, and throughout his time in law school, Joseph III worked as a paralegal, during which time he not only learned the ins and outs of the legal profession by working closely with his supervising attorneys, but also appeared and advocated on behalf of numerous individuals at administrative proceedings as a representative.
During his time in law school, Joseph III served as president of his law school student organization and received the "Unsung Hero Award" for his efforts in that capacity. Joseph III also worked extensively during this time with an experienced criminal defense attorney, assisting in the representation and defense of individuals charged with serious felony charges including murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, etc., in both State and Federal court.
Joseph III represents clients on a wide array of legal matters including estate planning, contract drafting, business formation, and criminal defense. With regard to criminal defense, Joseph III currently represents numerous individuals charged with crimes ranging from serious felonies to traffic violations throughout the region. Joseph III is a member of both the Herkimer and Madison County Assigned Counsel Programs.
FIRST RESPONDER & EMERGENCY SERVICES WORK
In addition to his legal career, Joseph III has demonstrated a commitment to public safety and the community through his work as a first responder, more specifically, as a New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for various Fire Departments, as well as the Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps., the latter of which he has been a member of for several years and, for his efforts in such capacity, received the "Deb Hart Award".
