Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, the labor movement has always been Keith Flynn's passion and the pursuit of social justice has always been his purpose. Keith D. Flynn graduated summa cum laude from Albion College with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Management. Keith Flynn attended Michigan State University where he attained his Juris Doctorate cum laude and Master of Human Resources and Labor Relations. While at Michigan State, he served on the editorial board of the Michigan State Law Review. He has worked for the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit, campaigned in over 20 political races throughout mid-Michigan, and acted as a member of the Bargaining Support Team at Michigan State University negotiating the first contract for a newly certified bargaining unit of non-tenured track faculty. Mr. Flynn is a proud recipient of the Spirit of Detroit Award and has been named a Rising Star the last two years in a row. He was elected and has served as the Chairman of the Genesee County Democratic Party from 2018 to 2020.
As a labor-side attorney with Miller Cohen, P.L.C., Mr. Flynn brings his knowledge, experience, and passionate zeal to fight for the rights of working people. He has represented unions and workers throughout the State of Michigan in federal and state court actions and on appeal before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court, and the Michigan Court of Appeals. He has also represented workers before the National Labor Relations Board, the Michigan Employee Relations Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, the U.S. Department of Labor, and in private arbitration and mediation. Mr. Flynn has successfully litigated numerous cases securing millions of dollars for his clients.
