Mr. Cole was licensed to practice in Oklahoma in 1986 and worked as a trial lawyer for several of the premier plaintiff litigation firms in Oklahoma City. Mr. Cole joined the Mansell & Engel firm in 2005.
Mr. Cole is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma Association for Justice (OAJ, formerly known as the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association). He has served as the Vice-President of OAJ (2010-2011) and as Chairman of the Legislation Committee (1996-97). He is currently the Chairman of OAJ's Amicus Curiae Committee (2003 - present) as well as the Chairman of OAJ's Information/Plank Committee (2011-present). He has served on OAJ's Executive Committee (2010-2011); OAJ's Board of Directors (1997-98, 2006-present); and OAJ's Advisory Board (1998-99, 2005-2006). He is the recipient of OAJ's Workhorse Award (2004 - 2005), as well as the Tomy D. Frazier Award (2009). Mr. Cole was OAJ's Member of the Year in 2009. In connection with his OAJ activities, Mr. Cole spends a considerable amount of time drafting, reviewing and revising legislation proposed at the Oklahoma State Capitol, particularly legislation pertaining to insurance issues and the civil justice system.
Obviously, Mr. Cole is recognized as a preeminent legal scholar and writer among his trial lawyer peers. He has been consistently voted as such for over 20 years by his peers achieving the highest possible ranking - AV Preeminent - in Martindale Hubbell - the recognized ranking authority in the legal profession. Mr. Cole has generated educational publications and spoke at educational programs and legal seminars on issues of insurance law and litigation for the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, The Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Oklahoma Association for Justice. Mr. Cole is licensed to practice in all Oklahoma state, federal and appellate courts.
