Overview
Lauren Kohl's practice area is heavily concentrated in the world of real estate transactions including the representation of buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of residential and commercial properties, including new construction. In addition to handling real estate closings, Lauren prepares and reviews deeds and mortgage loan documents for her clients and reviews condominium and homeowner's association documents and financial statements. She has been a title insurance agent since 1999 and has conducted over 20,000 closings.
Having earned her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Connecticut in 1988, Lauren went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the Florida State University College of Law in 1998. She was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Kohl enjoyed a successful career in real estate sales which she supplemented with real estate investment. She was the top producer in her Sarasota real estate office for five consecutive years and taught first time home buyer seminars in conjunction with several local and national mortgage lenders. In 2021 and 2022, she was designated an "Elite Top Attorney" by SRQ Magazine. An Elite Lawyer must demonstrate a high degree of skill and success in his or her career, be peer recognized, have exceptional experience, and be active in their community.
Lauren is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. She is also a member of the Realtors Association of Sarasota/Manatee, where she maintains relationships with area realtors as well as keeps abreast of current news and trends in the real estate arena. Over the years, Lauren has served as Board Member for the Sarasota County YMCA, the Venice Aviation Society, and the Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary. She enjoys giving back to the community and presently serves on the Board of Directors for CORESRQ, a local non-profit serving families and seniors, as well as sponsors several youth sports teams and maintains a corporate sponsorship at Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary.
The combined experience in all aspects of real estate from that of realtor to investor to closing attorney, in addition to her substantial education and expertise in real estate law, makes Lauren the perfect choice for those seeking representation in a real estate transaction.
When not at work, you may find Lauren out on the water, enjoying the sights of our beautiful coast from her bicycle, or relaxing with a good book. Lauren is married to Captain Jon R. Fahs, Jr., US Navy, Retired who is an attorney practicing estate planning for his second act. They have five children.
