Meyer, Olson, Lowy & Meyers, LLP
Los Angeles Family Law Lawyer
Overview
Lisa represents both men and women, as well as their spouses in high-stake divorce, custody and paternity cases, who work in many industries including entertainment, finance, professional sports, professionals such as lawyers, doctors and accountants, and technology. These include complex financial marital dissolutions, relocation and high-conflict child custody litigation, grey divorce and sophisticated prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Sensitive to her many prominent clients' concerns for confidentiality, Lisa works discreetly to achieve favorable outcomes and promote her clients' rights. Her more than 40 years of practice include family law cases within California, across the United States and international jurisdictions.
Known for her exceptional trial and courtroom skills and impassioned advocacy, Lisa gained national prominence during her successful representation of a mother for whom she secured visitation when the mother became comatose while giving birth to triplets. Lisa's experience raising a daughter with special needs has made her a champion of special needs children and adults. Lisa founded the female-owned family law firm in Los Angeles; Meyer, Olson, Lowy & Meyers in 2000 to bring a strong female presence to family law. She has led its growth into one of the country's most respected family law firms and "a force to be reckoned with" according to Best Lawyers.
Lisa also offers her services as a concierge attorney, helping guide and consult with clients regarding issues which arise pre-dissolution, during dissolution and post-dissolution for a monthly or annual retainer to be discussed and agreed upon.
A familiar media commentator, Lisa has expressed her expert opinion in the Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, Today Show, CNN, Court TV and Fox News and other media outlets. She also has been a regular contributor to HuffPost's blog on marriage and divorce.
Lisa earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School and began her legal career focused on domestic-violence cases, including intra-partner domestic violence. Her many philanthropic interests center around cancer research through Tower Cancer, special needs communities, including such organizations as Glennwood Housing Foundation, female mentoring through Motivating Our Students Through Experience (MOSTe), Levitt & Quinn, and the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law. Lisa has been recognized by Super Lawyers for the past 21 years and has been consistently named among its list of "TOP 50: 2025 WOMEN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SUPER LAWYERS." Lisa was selected for inclusion in the 2024 Lawdragon 500 Leading Family Lawyers.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
