Lisa York Bowman focuses her litigation practice on the defense of hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers in high exposure medical malpractice litigation and during investigations by the Board of Medical Examiners. She has also defended clients against claims involving premises liability, products liability, and general negligence. Lisa has experience in all stages of litigation, including depositions, court hearings, alternative dispute resolution, and trial. She has first-chaired and co-chaired several trials involving general negligence and medical malpractice.
Prior to joining HPS, Lisa practiced medical malpractice defense at Gideon & Wiseman, PLC in Nashville, Tennessee where she primarily defended cases involving allegations of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy in neonates. She also acted in an advisory capacity to health care institutions regarding compliance with Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act and Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996.
