Marie Stanton is one of the most experienced and respected mediators/litigators in Wisconsin. She gained trial experience early, trying 30 jury cases to verdict as an Assistant District Attorney. Her civil litigation/trial work has included representing clients in injury claims, insurance disputes, business, health care, and property claims. Marie continues to represent licensed professionals before the Boards of Medicine, Nursing, Chiropractic, Insurance, and Psychology, as well as attorneys, in conduct and other administrative claims.
Since 1993, Marie has mediated cases statewide, working both with Wisconsin and out of state counsel. She receives over 100 requests annually to mediate or arbitrate disputed matters. Marie thrives on the challenge of complex, multi-party cases but is equally attentive to claims between private parties. She involves counsel in pre-mediation conferences to identify issues and organize the process to promote efficiency. She will continue her involvement in negotiations beyond the mediation day to reach settlement. Her success as a mediator is well known, with attorneys across the state returning to mediate a diverse range of cases in size, type and complexity.
Her career has many firsts, including Wisconsin's first woman admitted to the American College of Trial Lawyers and the first woman invited to join the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
