Matt McMillan is a founding partner of Tropea McMillan, LLP in San Diego, California. For more than a decade, Mr. McMillan has been committed to providing personalized service and knowledgeable representation to his clients. Over the course of his career, he has handled a wide variety of environmental litigation matters involving public drinking water systems and supplies, water rights, multi-party contamination cases, hazardous waste, and land use and zoning disputes, among others. Matt's experience includes representation of California municipalities, large corporations, small businesses such as dry cleaners and gas stations, non-profit organizations, and individual property owners.
Matt also counsels clients on risk management, issues relating to insurance coverage, and regulatory permitting, compliance, and enforcement matters with both state and federal regulatory agencies.
Matt graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in English from Hawaii Pacific University. He earned his law degree from California Western School of Law. While attending law school, he was a member of the law school's Environmental Law Society. He holds an active law license before all California state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
