Minh T. Nguyen is a trial lawyer for people. He is the principal lawyer at Nguyen Theam LLP. He specializes in representing people with personal injuries. He handles all sorts of accidents, including car crashes, slip-and-falls, defective products, dog bites, and dangerous conditions of public property cases. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles ("CAALA") and will be its President in 2023. CAALA is a professional organization comprising of 3,000 lawyers who represent only consumers; it is the largest local trial bar in the country. He will be the first Asian-American president of CAALA.
Minh began his legal career at Jeffrey S. Pop & Associates, a boutique personal injury law firm. He represents catastrophically injured clients in personal injury lawsuits. In 2002, right out of law school working as a certified law student, he took on an orphaned case-a case that had been rejected by three different law firms and could not find a home-from start to finish. Minh represented a five-year old boy who was injured in an intersection car accident. The driver of the boy's car was uninsured, unlicensed, on anti-depressant medication, and had made a left turn in front of oncoming traffic. Despite the foregoing, he sued the city of Modesto and proved that the intersection was dangerous. He recovered over $3.5 million for the boy and his family. Since then, he has gone on to recover over $118 million in settlements and verdicts for his clients. He has been recognized by his peers as a Rising Star in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2012, and a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers Magazine every year from 2014 to the present.
Minh is a Past President of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers' Charities, a nonprofit that raises money from lawyers and gives back to the community. Through his leadership, LATLC has given back over $3 million to the community through programs such scholarships to high school seniors, sponsorships of youth sports, and the building of special tricycles for people with disabilities in the past two years. LATLC focuses on issues related to education, children, survivors of abuse, persons with disabilities, and homelessness.
In 2012, he opened his own law firm with offices in Beverly Hills and Long Beach. He believes in justice for every man, woman, and child regardless of age, race, gender or sexual orientation.
