Monique Alarcon is an attorney and partner in the Los Angeles office of Wisner Baum, advocating for clientsin pharmaceutical drug liability, defective medical device, and consumer fraud litigation. She also accepts select cases concerning police misconduct and civil rights violations.

Before she took on a position at Wisner Baum, Monique worked at the law office of Carol A. Sobel as an associate attorney. There, she gained valuable experience with civil rights litigation, handling cases involving police accountability, homelessness, and constitutional rights violations. Monique also dedicated time to representing homeless individuals who had been cited for "quality of life" offenses. She appeared for and presented oral arguments at arraignments, trials, and post-conviction hearings over infraction and misdemeanor offenses.

Monique graduated from the University of California with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Law & Society in 2013. She moved on to earn her J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. When she was not in class or studying, she externed at the nation's largest pro bono firm, Public Counsel, with the Children's Rights Project. She also clerked for the Disability Rights Legal Center during this time.

Her other academic achievements include:

• Ninth Circuit Appellate Advocacy Clinic, Drafted and Filed Opening Brief in a § 1983 Civil Rights Appeal (2015-2016)

• Scott Moot Court Honors Board, (2015-2016), Earned a "Top 10 Brief" Award

To this day, Monique continues to use her free time to better her community. She is a member of the National Lawyers Guild of Los Angeles and regularly volunteers at its legal clinics in Skid Row and Venice. In addition, she is a board member of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association, an advisory board member for the Elder Law and Disability Rights Center, a member of the American Association for Justice's Leaders Forum, and part of the Consumer Attorneys of California. She also serves as an adjunct professor of law for Loyola Law School's Hispanic National Bar Association Moot Court Team.

In 2016, Monique was admitted to practice law in the state of California and the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. She was later admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, and the U.S. District Court, District of New Mexico. Monique was extremely pleasant to work with throughout the entirety of my case. Monique is very professional and was always accessible for any questions I had. I am also thankful for the preparation I was given by her before being deposed as well as being interviewed by various media sources. Overall Monique provided excellent service, and should I need representation in the future, Monique and the firm she works with will be my first call.
