A native of Kentucky, Nakeina received her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville in 2006. During her academic career, Nakeina was awarded the honors of Governor's Scholar, Woodford Porter Sr. Achiever Trustee Scholar and Kentucky Legal Education Opportunity Graduate. Nakeina earned her law degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2010. After graduating law school, Nakeina worked in the private sector before being admitted to practice law in 2011. In addition to her practice, Nakeina is an Adjunct Professor at Indiana Wesleyan University, where she teaches undergraduate courses in the areas of Legal Studies and Criminal Justice. Nakeina is a passionate advocate for the youth and serves on the Board of Directors for Reach for Youth, Inc. She also volunteers her time as a Judge for Teen Court. She has completed training in the areas of trial advocacy and standardized field sobriety testing.
Throughout her career, Nakeina has displayed a love for the community and a heart for problem solving. As an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she is engaged in various service projects and community events. Nakeina enjoys music, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
