P. Andrew "Drew" Blatt is an intellectual property attorney with Wood Herron & Evans. Over the past 25 years, he has been involved in all phases of the firm's practice. Drew's intellectual property legal expertise includes preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications, IP enforcement, client counseling, legal opinions, and strategic planning. Drew has a deep understanding of a wide range of mechanical and aerospace technologies giving his clients assurance that they are working with a patent attorney who knows their technical and business needs. Drew was also involved for many years in patent, trademark, and trade secret litigations. Such litigation experience gives Drew useful forethought when preparing patent applications and counseling clients. Drew is the Practice Group Leader for the Mechanical/Aerospace patent prosecution Practice Group within the firm.
Drew is admitted to practice in Ohio and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Drew received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1988, a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering in 1990 and a Ph.D. degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering in 1993 from Purdue University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1998.
Prior to receiving his law degree, Drew worked as a materials research engineer at a government research laboratory. He is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Cincinnati Intellectual Property Law Association.
