Overview
Following law school Mr. van Aelstyn began his practice of law by joining the Vermont bar in 1998 and the New York Bar in 2001. He began his employment with Vermont's largest law firm, Downs Rachlin Martin. PLLC in Burlington. As a second year associate working in its Mergers & Acquisitions Department, Mr. van Aelstyn became the primary contact with one of Downs Rachlin Martin's largest clients with whom Mr. van Aelstyn was instrumental in creating what is now Verizon Wireless. In 2001 Mr. van Aelstyn returned to California to work with Stoel Rives LLP in San Francisco. In 2003, Mr. van Aelstyn took a break from the practice of law to pursue
other interests.
Mr. van Aelstyn rejoined the California Bar in 2021. He lives in the North Bay with his wife and two children.
