Overview
Ray has handled matters in diverse areas of commercial litigation, including real estate, construction, corporate/shareholder disputes, trade secrets and restrictive covenants, environmental, product liability and contract issues. Ray's practice has included trial and appellate work throughout the state of and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition, his experience includes commercial arbitrations and mediations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
In the area of construction litigation, he has represented owners, contractors, subcontractors and construction managers in a variety of matters. He has represented such clients as Heery International, in a dispute arising out of a major renovation project at an elementary school, and Conrail Corporation, in a dispute over delays in the construction of a golf course, where Conrail was a major subcontractor.
Ray has represented real estate developers, as well as commercial landlords and tenants in a variety of matters, including commercial landlord/tenant litigation and broker commission issues. In a recent commercial lease dispute, he recovered in excess of $7 million on behalf of a developer/landlord, in litigation involving the breach of a lease by a tenant in a shopping center.
Ray serves as an elected member and the Vice President of the Abington Township Board of School Directors. Among other responsibilities on the board, he serves as chairman of the board's Negotiations Committee, which has primary responsibility for negotiating contracts with the district's union employees, including the teachers union.
