Ms. Reux Stearns received an undergraduate degree in biology from Iowa State University in 2014. She then attended University of Washington for a year-long post-baccalaureate biology graduate program. Ms. Stearns received her law degree from Seattle University School of Law in May 2019. At Seattle University, she participated in case work with, and was the Deputy Director of, SU Law’s International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) chapter; was the Mentorship Chair of the Women's Law Caucus; and spent a year on the Law Review.
During law school, Ms. Stearns became deeply passionate about immigrant rights. She aided Asst. Dean Steven Bender in writing several articles and book chapters on the topic, went to Lebanon for a week in summer 2017 to draft case referrals to UNHCR in support of Syrian refugees, and externed with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP), the Washington Defender Association (WDA), the King County Department of Public Defense, and the Alaska Institute for Justice (AIJ).
Ms. Stearns spent her last semester of law school externing for AIJ and interning with Cascadia Cross Border Law. She was hired on as an associate at Cascadia in September 2019.
Ms. Stearns is a member of the Washington State Bar, the Alaska State Bar, and she is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
