Overview
Richard Vitale has 20 years experience in administrative law and civil litigation and is a skilled litigator and successful negotiator. No one understands better the need for assistance when the capacity to work and earn a living is lost. Mr. Vitale has won hundreds of disability cases in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. He takes seriously his role as counselor and advocate. He champions the cause of disabled individuals by providing a voice for those who lack the power to achieve the results they deserve.
Mr. Vitale's track record includes rendering more than 1,500 decisions for the Social Security Administration as a disability adjudicator. Well known as a vigorous litigator in the workers' compensation disability arena, he became an advocate upon whom clients quickly came to rely for advice and representation. Dedication to his practice is recognized by his receipt of the 2013 Commissioner's Meritorious Service Award from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services.
Mr. Vitale's experience includes federal appellate litigation in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and in the Supreme Court of Kentucky. Also, he successfully represented a national corporation for multi-district litigation in toxic tort liability cases. He was an editor and author for The Brandeis Brief (University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law) and the Urban Action public policy journal (San Francisco State University).
