After graduating from Mount Holyoke College I moved to Boston to attend Suffolk University Law School. Since starting my legal career at the New Hampshire Public Defender's busy Manchester office, I have represented thousands of clients charged in the juvenile and adult criminal system. I have experience defending the full spectrum of offenses: motor vehicle, DWI, simple assault, drug possession or sales, serious felony assault, theft, home invasion, sexual assault, homicide and civil commitment proceedings for sex offenders.
I have argued cases to New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Federal juries and judges. I have extensive litigation experience and am not afraid to put the opposition to the test. I am also an effective negotiator, whether in the criminal context, in the academic context of avoiding suspension or expulsion or in helping families come to amicable resolutions for divorce or custody of their children and assets.
In 2013 I moved to private practice with Bookman and Al-Marayati where I expanded my practice to include family law matters, guardianships and advising and preparing students for school disciplinary proceedings. In 2014 I started Melone Law, PLLC with the goal of continuing to provide quality and accessible legal representation.
In 2017 I was honored to join Wadleigh, Starr & Peters to help them grow their criminal practice group.
